Why this band exists

Sign-in with a Big Tech IdP rents your presence monthly and can revoke it overnight. Remade Identity is keys you hold and capabilities you sign: device-bound identity verified in process, so access is a signature you control instead of a session cookie pretending to be you.

Why now

"Continue with Google" won because OAuth was easier than explaining public keys on a Friday. It also wrote a generation of apps that die when the IdP has a bad day. Neighborhood mesh, Home Computers, and OEMs need a door that checks itself without phoning a campus.

How it fits

Memory keeps the durable capability list. Edge puts mID on the chip. Mind and Media only open for signed callers. Trust audits the crates that implement the door. Identity is the latch every other star assumes is honest.
